Diaper Duty helps the people caring for a baby log sleep, feeds, diapers and health and see the same log on every phone. This page explains what we keep, why, and how to delete it.
What we keep
- Your account: your name, email and profile picture from Apple or Google sign-in.
- Your household: its name, time zone, night hours, who is in it, and pending invite codes.
- Each child: name, birthday, and optionally sex and a color.
- The log: sleep, feeds (breast, bottle and solids), diapers, tummy time, notes, and who logged each one.
- Health and growth: medicine doses and the time between them that you set, temperatures, symptoms, and weight, length and head size. This is health information, and we treat it as such: it's used only to show you your log and answer your questions, never for advertising or research.
- Pumping: the parent's pumping sessions and the household's stash of stored milk.
- Ask chats: the questions you ask and the answers, visible only to you.
- Notifications: the reminders you turned on, and a push token for each phone you signed in on.
- Server logs: a line for each request to our servers: when it happened, what it asked for, how it went, the IP address it came from, and your account and household IDs. We use them only to keep Diaper Duty running and fix problems, and delete them after 30 days.
- Reports you send: bug reports and ideas from Settings, the screenshots and videos you add to them, your app version and phone model. Only our team sees them.
We don't sell any of it, show ads, or use tracking or advertising SDKs.
Who can see it
Everyone in your household sees its children and log. Ask chats are private to the person who asked.
A few companies handle data on our behalf, only to run Diaper Duty, and are bound to protect it as this policy does:
- Railway hosts our servers, the database and its backups.
- Apple and Google sign you in, and share only your name, email and picture with us.
- OpenRouter and the AI providers it routes to answer Ask questions, as described below.
- Expo and Apple deliver notifications.
- Axiom stores our server logs and performance data, including IP addresses, for 30 days.
- Sentry receives crash and error reports from the app, without IP addresses or what you logged.
- Discord is where our team reads the bug reports and ideas you send, with your email and the files you added.
Ask (AI answers)
Ask and the AI summary on a visit report are off until you allow them on your phone, and you can turn them off again in Settings → This phone → AI answers. Once allowed, when you ask a question or make a report with a summary, we send it with the relevant part of the log, including health entries, to a language model through OpenRouter. We only use providers that keep no copy of the request and don't train on it. The model is told the baby's age but never their name. Answers aren't medical advice.
Notifications
Reminders you turn on are sent through Expo's push service and Apple to reach your phone. They carry the child's first name, what was logged and when, and who logged it. Signing out stops them on that phone.
Claude and ChatGPT
You can connect Diaper Duty to Claude or ChatGPT. You sign in and choose to allow it first. Once connected, that assistant can read your household's log and your children's names and birthdays, and can log, change and delete entries for you, which everyone in the household sees. What it reads is sent to that company under your own account with them, under their privacy policy, not ours. You can disconnect at any time in the assistant's settings.
Deleting your data
- Delete account (Settings → Account) signs you out everywhere and erases your account and chats within minutes. Reports you sent stay with our team, without your name or email, including the copies on Discord. What you logged stays with the household for the other caregivers.
- Leave household removes you from it. If you're the last member, the household and everything logged in it is deleted.
- Deleted entries are kept for 90 days so every phone can catch up, then permanently removed.
Children's privacy
The app is for parents and caregivers, not for children to use. Information about a child is entered by the adults caring for them.
Changes and questions
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app for anything significant. Questions: use the support contact on the App Store listing.
